About

Hello and welcome to the My Peripheral Neuropathy Journey Website.
If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance that peripheral neuropathy has touched your life in some way — perhaps you’ve recently been diagnosed, have been living with symptoms for some time, are supporting someone you care about, or are simply trying to make sense of confusing information.
If that sounds familiar, you are very welcome here.

Why I Created This Website

Living with peripheral neuropathy can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Like many people, I found myself searching for answers — trying to understand symptoms, medical terminology, possible causes, treatments, lifestyle changes, and ways to cope day to day. I discovered there was no shortage of information online, but much of it felt complicated, contradictory, overly technical, or difficult to relate to.
At times, it felt like I was spending hours searching for answers and coming away with even more questions.
That experience inspired me to create My Peripheral Neuropathy Journey.

My aim is simple:
To create a clear, friendly, easy-to-understand place where people can explore peripheral neuropathy information, practical ideas, trusted resources and shared experiences — All in plain English.

A Little About Me
My name is Andrew, and I have been living with peripheral neuropathy for many years, diagnosed February 2017.
And yes, until 2024, each year I could still go away on extended cycling expeditions.
Sadly since 2024, my last 28 day expedition (not riding everyday though) it’s highly unlikely I will ever do it again 😉  but I am still riding my Brompton occasionally in the summer months locally.

Like many others, I understand the uncertainty, frustration and questions that can come with trying to understand what has been  happening to my body. Some days are easier than others.

I’m not a doctor, medical professional or clinician — just someone walking and sometimes riding this path and trying to make sense of it, one step or pedal stroke at a time.
Over the years, I’ve spent many hours researching, reading, asking questions and learning more about peripheral neuropathy and the many ways it can affect everyday life.
I created this website because I felt there can be a place that feels less clinical, less overwhelming, and more human.
A place where people feel understood.

An Important Note

Everything shared on this website is intended for general information and educational purposes only.
Nothing on this site should be considered medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it should never replace guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.
Peripheral neuropathy affects everyone differently, and what helps one person may not help another and for me it keeps changing along the way which (pardon the pun) keeps me on my toes.
My hope is simply to help people feel better informed, less alone, and more confident when asking questions and exploring their own journey.

You’re Not Alone

Peripheral neuropathy can sometimes feel isolating, frustrating and difficult to explain to others.

But if there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

There are many people walking similar paths.

Whether you are newly diagnosed, have been living with symptoms for years, supporting a loved one, or simply trying to understand more — I hope you find something useful, reassuring or informative here.

Thank you for visiting My Peripheral Neuropathy Journey.

You are always welcome.

— Andrew
